2008 Board of Directors

Mission Statement
The mission of the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce is to improve the overall business climate for members by creating programs and services, which stimulate economic growth and enhance the quality of life in the Rolla area.

Vision
The Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce will accomplish its mission by helping its members work together to create a positive economic setting for long term growth of their organizations and by increasing indiviual participation in the Chamber's activities.  We will expand our membership by promoting a positive working relationship among business, government and the general public, by helping our members attract economic activitiy to Rolla, by working together to resolve business problems that inhibit growth and by maintaining an effective, efficient organization that is accountable to each of its members.

April Board of Directors Meeting

During the April RACC Board of Directors meeting the board approved the financial reports for March and the 2007 Audit. The board heard from our ex-officio members who were in attendance, Missouri S&T and City of Rolla.

During the meeting the board discussed the following:

·        Lead abatement procedure and quotes for the property

·        Show-Me Scholars, Scholarship Presentation

·        Tour of Missouri

·        Business Showcase/Conference scheduled for November 20, 2008

·        Building and Grounds issues including door repair at the Visitor Center

·        Chamber Membership Appreciation on May 3, 2008

Members of the Board heard monthly reports from the Executive Director and Tourism Director. Written reports were given by the Membership Committee, Planning & Vision Committee, Ambassadors, Phelps For the Fort, Small Business, RDBA and Ambassadors.

The next board meeting will be May 22, 7:30 a.m. at the Rolla Visitor Center.
